GOOGLE - A LITTLE HELP BEFORE THE SUPER BOWL

After looking at a decade worth of Super Bowl search data, we came to one inevitable conclusion:

The teams, halftime performers and commercials change year after year. But one thing remains the same every Super Bowl — the questions people ask Google on the day of the Big Game.

So, in the spirit of helpfulness we made a film that answers all those recurring questions before you even have a chance to ask them.

The campaign was created with Google Brand Studio in collaboration with the great Caleb Jensen and the spot was directed by Calmatic via Prettybird.

The campaign was kicked off with a call to action placed on Google’s most valuable internet real estate, its Search home page:

Our film was supported by a series of social executions inviting people to answer themselves some of the more subjective questions…

And interactive GIF stickers in partnership with GIPHY:

And for those who wanted to really dive deep into the data, there were also long form data stories on Google’s official blog and Google Trends. The data actually reveals some pretty interesting stuff like Vermont searches more for ‘Buffalo Wings’ than ‘Tom Brady’ every Super Bowl or how every year searches for ‘Roman Numerals’ peak around game time.
